In this penetrating book, Asis Mistry argues that the common problem with majority of the ethnic groups in Nepal is that their voice has been intimidated for generations vis-a-vis the dominance of Bahuns and Chhetris on the one hand and the autocratic Hindu monarchy on the other. The lack of resistance from their part lagged them far behind and pushed them to the doom of powerlessness. These groups lost their history since they could not protect it.
