The Famous Five: Five Go Adventuring Again is a novel that is based on the adventures of the famous five, as they attempt to unravel the mystery behind the room at Kirrin Cottage. Summary Of The Book The Famous Five: Five Go Adventuring Again revolves around Julian, Dick, George, Timmy, and Anne, who return to Kirrin Cottage to spend their Christmas holidays. However, the four of them need to spend time studying, as they need to catch up due to their absence from school. They think about carrying out another adventurous investigation. However, their happiness is short-lived when Uncle Quentin requests Mr. Roland to help the children with their studies. When they are introduced to Mr. Roland, George takes an instant dislike for the tutor, and so does her pet dog, Timmy. Although the others highly disagree with George’s perspective, she still remains aloof towards Mr. Roland. As time goes by, Timmy is made to sleep outside the house as he once bit Mr. Roland on his ankle. George takes the four around the farmhouse, requesting Mrs. Sanders if she can take them upstairs to show them the cupboard with the false back. Mrs. Sanders tells her that she’s cleaning the room for some guests. In the meantime, Dick finds a piece of paper in the wall, which has some instructions written in Latin. They then ask Mr. Rowland what the instructions meant, as he knew Latin. He tells them that the instructions refer to a room that faces eastward and has 8 wooden panels in it, which lead somewhere. They invite Mr. Rowland to join them on their adventure to find the mystery behind the wooden panels. However, George doesn’t like the idea as she found Mr. Roland snooping on some of his father’s work, who is a scientist. When Uncle Quentin, George’s father complains about the key pages missing from his work, the four change their opinion of Mr. Roland, as they suspect that he’s involved in this act. Is Mr. Roland behind the missing papers of Uncle Quentin? Are the five able to unravel the mystery behind the room with the 8 panels? Read on to find out.
