Fiber Optic Communications is a comprehensive book for undergraduate electronics and communication engineers. The book is an essential resource for all professionals working with optic fibers. About Joseph C. Palais Joseph C. Palais is the Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, Arizona State University. A graduate of the University of Arizona, Tucson, Dr. Palais obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The ECEE Graduate Program Chair, Dr. Palais has worked as a Microwave Engineer for Motorola and for Stanford Research Institute and has been a consultant for several private firms, including Sperry Flight Systems, Sylvania, and Polaroid. He has also contributed sections to The Electrical Engineering Handbook, and The Communications Handbook.
