She has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in a allege under Calcutta University for the last 25 years. She is also a poet and editor of anthologies of poetry books. She is the editor of the English section of Poets Corner, an online group that has published 11 anthologies, in Hindi and English, in less than two years. Her poems have been widely published in print, e-books, journals and magazines all over the world, in places like Canada, UK, Ghana, Bangladesh and India. She was shortlisted for Fermoy Poetry Competition, Ireland, in 2012. She has featured in more than 30 national and international anthologies. She has authored two poetry books titled For All You Lovely People and Pebbles on the Shore. She also writes short stories. Many of her stories have been published in The Statesman, Calcutta edition.
