Satbir Chadha’s For God Loves Foolish People is a poignant story of the woman who goes through many a trying time in her life while growing up. Summary of the Book Satbir’s devout Sikh family history has it that they are into trade from Europe through to China. The story is set in the early fifties in Nainital. While Satbir is growing up, she learns the connections between different people and the intricacies of human relationships. She discovers the conflicts and contradictions, suffering and pretence that prevail in the society about various aspects of life. And just when she needs her mother the most, Satbir is left all alone to face a gruesome situation all by herself. What is that Satbir is encountered with? How is she going to face what is in store for her? Will she have control over the course of her life? About Satbir Chada Satbir was born in Nainital in 1950. She finished her schooling at the St. Teresa Convent High School, Bombay. She later studied Humanities at the Sophie College, Bombay. She had a business of her own for a short while, and they designed for a few advertising agencies.
