The generation of new computer based archieves of massive databases on genomics and proteomics, development of structure function relationship of new sequences, accessing of new sequences and comparing them with what was already available with the help of network computers, initiated the development of bioinformatics. This discipline helps us to collect, compile, analyze, process and represent the information in order to understand the physiology of life, health and diseases; find new processes or better drugs delivery system for genes, drugs and other genetic components for the improvement of life. About Author : Dr. Irfan Ali Khan obtained his M.Sc. from the Aligarh Muslim University and Ph.D. in Botany from the Osmania University, Hyderabad, specializing in Genetics and Plan Breeding. Dr. Khan is the Director of Nawab Shah Alam Khan Centre for Post Graduate studies and Research, Anwarul Uloom College Campus, Mallepally, Hyderabad. Dr. Aditya Khanum obtained her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Botany from the Osmania University, Hyderabad, Dr. Khanum has worked on the ecology of two lakes of Hyderabad with special reference to Planktonic and Mat forming algal communities.
