The book emphasises an understanding of the basis of organic chemistry from the root level. The concepts scratched from core and after passing through mantle and crust have been flown to the sky level. The cynosure of this book is Chapter 3 Reaction Mechanism and Reactive Intermediates that lays down the foundations of mechanistic approach to organic chemistry. Each chapter of this book is embellished with required text material reaction description and its detailed mechanism followed by the solved problems after every subtopic. At the end of every chapter a large number of practice problems of different levels in the ascending level of difficulty is given under Practice Exercise followed by an exhaustive bank of unique and innovative multiple choice questions. Since contents of organic chemistry are interlinked two huge Review Exercises containing cumulative skill problems have been given at the appropriate stages with the intention to sum-up the understanding of the preceding chapters. About the Author Ranjeet Shahi completed his MSc from Roorkee University and obtained his M Tech from liT-Delhi where he is currently pursuing his PhD. He has a long experience of teaching chemistry to the students appearing for different competitive examinations especially IIT-JEE and other similar examinations. Mr. Shahi currently has his own Ranjeet Shahi Chemistry Classes at Chandigarh the institution which he has been running since 2001. He has the distinction of having more than 450 students enrolled at his institute every year. He had also worked earlier for E-Gurugul Projects. He is currently working on Fundamentals of Physical Chemistry and Fundamentals of Inorganic Chemistry.
