This book is an outcome of the Seminar entitled “Tribal world of Verrier Elwin”organized by the Anthropological Survey of India, at its Sub-Regional Centre, Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, during 21 -23 ,December, 2017. The book is a compilation of the lectures that was given by various Research Scholars and local people, during the seminar. The volume “Glimpses into the World of Verrier Elwin” comprises of 21 selected papers. The readers, be it researchers, students or administrators, this volume will be able to give clear insight into the works of this invaluable anthropologist, and also the field experiences of various senior researchers. K.M. Sinha Roy did his Masters in Social Anthropology from North Bengal University. He has done intensive work on communities of Andaman and Nicobar such as the Jarwas, Nicobarese and Sentenelese. He has also worked in various other national and regional projects of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sikkim, Odisha, West Bengal and has published several research papers in scientific journals including International Journals and has edited multiple books. He joined theAnthropological Survey of India at Port Blair. Presently, K.M. Sinha Roy is working as Superintending Anthropologist (cultural) and is simultaneously performing as the Head of Office in the Eastern Regional Centre of the Anthropological Survey of India.
