Arka Meghna is the most popular hot pepper grown all over India and used in most popular spicy foods in India. This long thin wrinkled chilli which ripen from light-green to red when ripe. If you love hot chilli then this one surely needs your attention.High yielding chilli F1 hybrid developed by using MS line.Plants medium tall (81.3 cm) & spreading 69.5 cm. Fruits long (10.6 cm) with width of 1.2 cm. Very early, taking 24 days for 50% flowering. Harvest 1.25-1.5kg per plant . Fresh yield of 33.5 t/ ha and dry yield of 5 t/ ha in 140-150 days. Fruits are dark green and turn deep red.Tolerant to powdery mildew and viruses. Sowing instructions : Choose a sunny, sheltered site with well-drained, fertile soil. Add a general-purpose fertiliser before planting.Grow in 23cm (9in) pots filled with compost or in grow bags with a maximum of 3 per bag.Sow two seeds in a compost-filled peat pot - remove the weaker seedling once they have both emerged.Support once the stems grow tall enough.Fruiting starts in 25 days .Pick as required. Chillies will usually change colour as they ripen. The longer they are left on the plant, the hotter they tend to become.
