Decision making is our important everyday activity. Success whatever the field of life depends upon our decisions. This book brings out the influence of personality characteristics (as per Eysenck's classification), decision self esteem, achievement motivation and some of demographic variables on decision making styles of university students. The knowledge of the results of this study will be helpful in guidance and counselling the students' population. This book reviews extensive researchers conducted earlier in field of decision making. It also eleborates the concept of decision making strategies and discusses seven theories of decision making process. It studies decision making on the basis of Conflict Theory of Decision making (Janis and Mann, 1977). So this book gives an extensive view of how people resolve their conflicts. This book delineates many avenues for future researchers and hence it is useful to those who carryout researchers in Psychology and Education. About the Author Dr. D. Amalor was born in Odiampet a village in Puducherry. He completed his M.Phil (1993) and Ph.D. (1998) degrees in Psychology in Annamalai University. His area of specialisation is Guidance and counselling. He has publsiehd many research articles in the field of decision making in reputed jorunals and presented papers in national level conferences. Hs has been working in Directorate of School Edcuation. Puducherry at various positions for 30 years. At present he is working as a Lecturer (Psychology) in District Institute of Education and Training (DIET Puducherry.
