Amalor was born in Odiampet a village in Puducherry. He completed his M.Phil (1993) and Ph.D. (1998) degrees in Psychology in Annamalai University. His area of specialisation is Guidance and counselling. He has publsiehd many research articles in the field of decision making in reputed jorunals and presented papers in national level conferences. Hs has been working in Directorate of School Edcuation. Puducherry at various positions for 30 years.
