Dave and Laura are slowly packing and storing things in the parked truck. Laura picks up an old wooden chair that their parents gave during their marriage ten years ago. It had so many memories, but she knew it had to go. Dave isn't that attached; it quickly sweeps around the room checking for working amenities, broken fixtures or chipped paint. They had both decided it was time to move on and sell the house. The mortgage was too high and Dave was recently cut off from work. They would have liked to keep the house for a few more years, but they can no longer finance such high interest rates. They have rented out an apartment that better suits their lifestyle. But there are so many memories in this house that it is difficult for them to clean up. After a last look at the rooms, Dave and Laura meet in the lobby of the house. They are excited to move on, but also nostalgic about this home. Dave is more on the practical side and asks Laura if they have a chance to sell the house at a reasonable price. Laura assures her as best she can, but she also has doubts. In such terrible times as an economic recession, she also fears it will take too long for the house to be sold.
