The geo-strategic location of Afghanistan has always made it an area of conflict and political instability not in the region but also at global level. Both India and Pakistan compete with each other to establish their hold in the decision making process in Afghanistan.Pakisatn sees India's good relations with Afghanistan as a major threat to its security and economic interests in the region while india is constantly trying to have its foothold in Afghanistan to secure its stratigic interets.India seized the opportunity to secure its political and economic influence in Afghanistan by re-opening its embassy and started providing substantial reconstruction assistance making its presence felt in the country. On the other hand the Pakistani establishment started finding its existential threat posed by new role of India having taken precedence over all other geographic and economic goals. In order to counter this new development, the Pakistani establishment started relying on non nstate actors to create problems for india and afghanistan.The present book explains and examines the different dimenssions of struggle between India and Afghanistan to establish their respective influence in post 2001 Afghanistan.
