The Fishes included in this Catalogue were all of them dredged by theR. I. M. S. "Investigator," in deep water, between the meridians of 65° and 99°E. and the parallels of 5' and 24° N., during the years 1885-1899.The Catalogue is designed to meet the wants of students of the Indianfauna, and it would have been superfluous to reprint information that can befound recorded in Day's standard volumes on the Fishes of India.
