This book examines the extent of influence of newspapers in the growth of Indian English. Highlighting the lexical syntactic and semantic areas of English language appearing in the national English dailies, it analyses factors influencing the editors/writers in creating new expression in terms of words, structures and meaning. It further studies the fertile morphological and syntactic processes in creating new words and structure. The semantic potential coming out of such coinage has also been explored.
