Recently, he has been awarded by Maharashtra Hindi Granth Academy for the best work on literary criticism styled as Nav Manavatavadi Chintan (Neohumanistic Thought). Dr. Gupta is a prolific writer. Besides many research papers, he has 46 books in both Hindi and English to his credit. Dr. Gupta's writings have a very brad spectrum of themes which include Literature, History, Culture, Education, Sociology, Philosophy, Theology and so on. He is considered to be the authority on Value Education on which he has contributed as many as six books with different angles. Latest in the series was Education and Values in the Mahabharata, Mulaya Parak Shiksha of about 400 pages published form Ajmer, has been profusely quoted by the scholars. He retired as Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and settled at Nagpur.
