Jane Eyre is a classic novel by Charlotte Brontë. Summary of the Book Jane Eyre lives with her maternal uncle and his family. She crosses paths with a strange but interesting man named Mr. Rochester, who begins to spend time with her. Jane soon discovers that Thornfield Hall may have secrets that she has yet to discover, secrets which may explain the macabre events in the house. But the most mysterious part of the house is Mr. Rochester himself, and Jane can’t seem to shake off her interest in him. About Charlotte Brontë Charlotte Brontë was an English novelist and poetess. She was the elder sister of Emily and Anne Brontë. Charlotte Bronte also wrote Villette and Shirley. Jane Eyre was adapted into several films, most recently by Cary Fukunaga in 2011 starring Mia Wasikowska as Jane Eyre, Michael Fassbender as Rochester and Judi Dench as Mrs. Fairfax.
