Summary of the Book This book is the story of Sameera Parvin who moves to an unnamed Middle Eastern city to live with her father and her relatives. She’s very good at her job as a radio jockey and at home, she’s the darling of the family. But her happiness doesn’t seem to last. When revolution blooms in the country, her happy world starts to fall apart. Sameera becomes embroiled in the politics of the land and is forced to choose between friends and family, loyalty and love, and life and death. About the Author   Based in the United States of America, Shahnaz Habib is an Indian writer and translator. She is best known for her English translation of Jasmine Days (2018), which is a Malayalam novel by the author Benyamin, and she even went on to bag the prestigious JCB Prize for Literature in 2018. Shahnaz’s works mainly focus on travel and fiction. Her notable works include Of Hypocrisy and Cheekbones and Something Special About Sayyida. Her works have constantly been featured in The Guardian, The New Yorker and Afar. Currently, Shahnaz lives in Brooklyn, New York, where she continues to keep up the good work.
