Jeremy and Simon. Or more explicitly, Curious Jeremy and Simple Simon. This roller coaster comic strip ride into the unremarkable, yet very special, lives of a young man and his dog, is laced with humour and irony – the peaceful rhythm of their lives broken by occasional discord, when the curiosity of one encounters the not-so-simple persona of the other. Jeremy’s thirst for information (‘He will read anything, and do it aloud’, as Simon observes) is for the most part viewed as a harmless pastime by Simon. Except for those theories on canine behavior that Jeremy discovers and propounds, much to Simon’s dismay. For the theories expect Simon to behave in a certain manner, which is not his wont. In their placid and gentle world, broken only by Jeremy’s ire at Simon’s love for the easy life, theories come and go, and sparks fly only to fizzle out, as no ill will really lasts for long, unless of course Jeremy has had a bad day at the office. But then there’s always Isabel, to be pursued and wooed, though she does seem to be more often on Simon’s side of things than on his. Silently, man and dog claim ownership of each other. Not surprisingly, though, there are moments when Jeremy suspects that Simon is in control of him and not the other way round. But, life’s too short and glorious for something like that to cause any lasting grief. Jeremy and Simon. Welcome to their world. And through them, discover just a little more about yourself.
