The kama sutra by vatsyayana it is one of the three goals of hindu life. It is what the west called erotica. It is the one we consider sacred. It is kama. and this is its manual-the kama sutra. a compilation of seven books, starting with the description of general principles of mortal life that brahma laid down when he created men and women-dharma (fulfillment of duty), artha (accumulation of wealth) and kama (pleasurable experience of the five senses, to moving forward about the right way of life where it talks about many issues including the behaviour and actions during copulation between a man and a woman. A 4th century guide to a virtuous and gracious living, still valid in the 21 century and beyond. Vatsyayana unbashingly talks scientifically and spiritually about what is a taboo today and emphasises that this book is a must for both men and women. It lays more stress on the fact that women, especially, should be knowledgeable in the arts complimentary to kama sutra. The physical beauty of khajuraho is the manifestation of the beauty trapped in this book, which the west unknowingly calls the manual of sex.
