With a long teaching experience of about 30 years, Dr. Sharma has been actively engaged in research work and has published more than forty research papers. He has produced 6 Ph. D. s and participated in several national and international seminars and conferences. He has oganised a national seminar on Utilisation of Wastelands for Sustainable Development in India and is the chief editor of its proceedings which have been published recently by Concept Publishing Co., New Delhi. A life-member of various geographical societies and associations, Dr. Sharma is the Vice-President of Association of Marketing Geographers of India, Gorakhpur and Association of Geographers, India, Lucknow.
