On 6th June, 1924, George Mallory and Sandy Irvine were said to have disappeared in Mount Everest. This is a story that recalls their journey and reconstructs the happenings of that fateful day when the two left the camp. Summary of the Book Graham Hoyland was a man who became obsessed with Mount Everest and the story of Mallory and Irvine. It is said that no one knows what happened and how they died. Mallory’s body was found somewhere on Mount Everest in 1999, and Irvine’s body is supposedly still out there, waiting to be discovered. Graham was the 15th Englishman to climb Everest in 1993. His evidence led to finding Mallory’s body and, in the same way, it will be his evidence that will help in discovering Irvine’s body. This book is a combination of personal experience, physical evidence found on the mountain, and an insight into the minds of the two missing people. It answers many questions and also attempts to find out whether the two actually climbed Mount Everest. About Graham Hoyland Graham Hoyland is an author of the definitive book on Mallory and Irvine who climbed Mount Everest. He was the 15th Briton to climb the mountain. He is also a producer and director of adventure films, and has worked on all the seven continents for BBC, Discovery and NBC.
