He was also the Professor and Head, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in the Government Engineering Colleges at Thiruvanthapuram and Kannur, and was the Joint Director of Technical Education, Kerala. He was the first Controller of Examinations, Kannur University. He has also acted as a member of the Faculty, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Idaho, USA. He was a member of the Syndicate, Senate, and Academic Council of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Professor Nair has a teaching experience of more than 38 years and is the author of 14 textbooks in the area of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
