About The Author: William Lutley Sclater (1863-1944) was a British zoologist and museum director. After disputes, he moved to the United States and became a curator at the Natural History Museum in England. Sclater authored "Systema Avium Aethiopicarum" and "A History of the Birds of Colorado." He held notable positions in ornithological societies and traveled extensively. Sclater also described new species of amphibians and reptiles.
