Tulsi (Holy Basil) is a widely grown, sacred plant of India. Many of grow Tulsi as a religious plant in their homes, temples and their farms. They use Tulsi leaves in routine worship. Tulsi, grown as a pot plant, is found in almost every traditional house. Ocimum tenuiflorum [or Ocimum sanctum L.], commonly known as holy basil, tulsi or tulasi, is an Maamatic perennial plant in the family Lamiaceae. It is native to the Indian subcontinent and widespread as a cultivated plant throughout many regions. They tend to grow best when they are planted in average, moist and well-drained soil, will tolerate sandy soil, loamy soil, clay soil and moist soil.
