Manju Singh has given a balanced discussion of female consciousness and struggle portrayed by Maitreyi. The author has underlined the tone of social change articulated in his works. Maitreyi Pushpa's concept of freedom is above woman versus man, it also contains broader social questions of struggle. Dr. Manju Singh has done a subtle exploration of the entire literature of the author in his research book. While refining her literary consciousness, she has seen and tested the female storyteller in the present contexts. The book provides a meaningful direction to women's discourse while studying the literature deeply.
