Malwa is located in Central India. This work was one of the first which attempted to lay forth the history of this area from the time of Aurangazeb (1656-1707) up to the Year 1765. The book has 7 chapters that chart the history of this province. Chapter 1 describes the state of Malwa at the close of the 17th Century. Chapter 2 is about the state of Malwa during the last decade of Aurangazebs rule (1698-1707). Chapter 3 charts the increasing importance of Malwa during the years 1707-1719. Chapters 4 and 5 are about the Maratha and Malwa struggle (1730-1741). Chapter 6 describes the consolidation of the Maratha hold on Malwa. Chapter 7 recapitulates the condition of Malwa during the described period. This book is a reprint of the 1936 edition. With a foreword by Sir. Jadunath Sarkar.
