Meanings into Words is a course in general English, divided into two parts-Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate-which can either be used one after the other as a single continuous course or separately as two independent courses. The Upper-Intermediate Course takes students up to the level of the Cambridge First Certificate examination.Meanings into Words systematically covers the functional, notional and grammatical areas that are important to students at this level. In each unit, students are taught the relationship between structures and meaning and learn how to use structures in a communicative context.The variety of stimulating practice material makes this a powerful and effective course which gives students a deep and productive understanding of the way English works.The Upper-Intermediate course contains 15 teaching units and a revision unit, providing 80-100 classroom hours.
