In the treasure trove of memories, the reminiscences of our elder brother, Subhash Chand Pathak, stir the heart deeply. Our primary education took place in the village primary school. Starting school felt like venturing far from home, though the school was just 200 meters away. As most children were from other villages, everything seemed unfamiliar and somewhat daunting. However, our brother, being three years older, had been studying there already, acting as our guardian. He stayed with us in case of any trouble. When we moved on to Shibli College after primary school, he had been studying there for three years already. Again, he acted as our guardian. Besides being our protector, our relationship with him was friendly. We lived together, went to school together, worked in the fields with our father together, studied together under a single lantern, and played together. Today, he is no longer with us, and every moment spent with him continues to evoke deep emotions. It feels as if he has gone somewhere, and when we return home on the next vacation, he will be waiting for us outside the house, eagerly anticipating our arrival.
