This book attempts to bring together the Indian philosophical thoughts of Tagore, Gandhi, and Aurobindo on physical and material world as well as the thoughts of some modern writers on corporate world. Pointing out how Indian ancient philosophical schools deal with the physical world around us, it discusses at length the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo, Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi who tried to give matter and material world its due respect. Describing in detail the Nyaya, Vaisesika, Samkhya, Jaina, Bouddha and Vedanta views of the physical world, it takes stock of the attitude of the different cultural groups of the society towards the world of things. It also provides a critical analysis of the good and bad effects of the consumer world. About the Author:- Arnabi Sen is an Associate Professor at Sidho Kanho Birsha University, Purulia. Earlier, she was Asst. Professor at Nistarini College, Purulia, for about 12 years. She did her post-graduate and Ph.D from Visva Bharati. Her main interest is to show the social relevance of philosophy and not to continue it in the academic world as an exlcusive execise.
