My Book of Poetry is an attempt at collating all my poetry under one cover. Ideally, I planned to write a novel but realized that it would take longer and due to my current circumstances, I couldn’t afford the time or money on it right now. Poetry has always been my passion ever since I studied English Honors from the reputed St. Xavier’s College in Kolkata. I remember taking up the challenging decision to write a poetry instead of an article or essay during my third-year final semester. That was my first breakthrough as I landed myself the best marks in that paper as compared to other papers. As a child, I’ve always loved fairy tales and rhymes as they took me into a world of fantasy that was beautiful. Then growing up I realized that this world isn’t really the fantasy world we imagine. Graduating in English, made me love the language even more and poetry was my gateway to freedom of speech and thought. I wrote poems for my parents when they were away in another city working, I wrote poems for my first love, my first heartache, my best friends and the moments shared with them, my childhood, my family, my beliefs, my songs, my marriage, my wishes, hopes and desires, practically everything! So, this is containing all my favorite poems I’ve ever written by believing in something. I go into a spasm when I write, and my words just flow into complete order.
