Capsicum plants are herbaceous or semi-woody annuals or perennials. The leaves are ovate, tapering to a sharp point, measuring up to 15 cm, dark green on the upper surface and pale green on the lower surface. The flowers are small, white and borne singly or in clusters of 2 or 3 in the axils of the leaves.
