Neem oil is extracted from the seeds of the neem tree (Azadirachta indica), a member of the mahogany family and a native of India and South Asia. The plant has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine, especially as an antiseptic, but scientists have only been studying its potential as a Plant care since the 1960s. Neem oil and some of its purified components are used in over 100 Plant care products. They are applied to a wide variety of crops and ornamental plants for insect control.
