Anjani Pandey, the very name with all the romance associated with it, confuses at first. However, Poet?s Note, added to this beautiful and delightful collection of poems, reveals the complete personality of Anjani Pandey from his birth to growth, his bearing and learning. He feels blessed to have been born, having been brought up and educated in the enlightened and cultural atmosphere of the historical-religious city of Allahabad where his mental make-up developed. It is against this background that we begin our delightfully fresh journey into the fine and rough raw material which inspires the sensitive soul of a real poet. This is what we experience in Of Love, Life and Lamentations about which we richly learn from the honest confessions of Anjani?s poetic venture with all its freedom of language, style, spirit and content without any pretension and illusion. We hope that Anjani will continue with this bold honesty and initiative for a new variety of harvest in Indian English Poetry.
