Old age homes are meant for senior citizens who are unable to stay with their families or are destitute. These old age homes have special medical facilities for senior citizens such as mobile health care systems, ambulances, nurses and provision of well-balanced meals.Old people have more health problems than young adults, and many of them take medicine. Placing old parents in old-age homes should be a secondary option, not the primary one. Besides, old-age homes should be an option only to those without anyone to look after them. With a family-like atmosphere, these homes can provide a sense of security and friendship. Residents can share their joys and sorrows with each other. People without children do not have to die alone and destitute as some old-age homes can cater to the needs of old people quite well. In the future, aging and slower rates of growth are expected to characterize the populations of all major regions in the world.It is hoped that this book would provide to a wide cross-section of people an understanding of some of the issues on significant aspects of areas of concern.
