Parent-Mediated Home Interventions (PMHI) consists of home-based activities to enhance the level of relationship, personal growth and system maintenance and change in families with children with specific learning disabilities. It aims to support parents with activities for improving cohesion, expressiveness, conflict, acceptance and caring, independence, active recreational orientation, organisation and control in families. PMHI was designed with a focus on parenting and employs a strength-based approach to draw upon the fortes of the parents, children with specific learning disabilities and other family members.
