Prasenjit Mukherjee was born in 1957 and did his master’s degree in English literature from Utkal University. He was a lecturer in Berhampur University before joining the Indian Audit and Accounts Service. He has also translated another of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s works, the popular Palli Samaj.
