Verghese Boobli George Verghese is a senior Indian journalist and was the editor of the leading newspapers–The Hindustan Times and The Indian Express. Verghese started his career with The Times of India. He was honored with the Ramon Magsaysay Award for outstanding contribution to journalism in 1975. Verghese studied Economics at St. Stephen’s College in Delhi and pursued a Mater’s degree from Trinity College in Cambridge. He has authored several books including Waters of hope and Winning the future, among others.
