The "bible" of power generation, the updated edition of this practical, comprehensive guide, now divided into two books, offers a through understanding of all types of power generation plants, their design, operation, systems, equipment, and maintenance—with an emphasis on the economics of plant operation. Power Generation Handbook, Second Edition addresses the basics of power generation via gas turbines, steam power plants, co-generation, combined cycles, wind, and solar. This is the first of two books. Guidelines are provided for designing, operating, and maintaining highly efficient power generating plants that have the lowest emission levels. The goal of both books in this revised Handbook is to help these plants reduce their operating cost and environmental emissions and to maximize profits.
