Practical Ethics, authored by Peter Singer, is a brilliant resource for applied ethics studies. The book has been revised and updated from the past three decades. The book attempts to discuss some of the most fundamental questions of life. Is being a non-vegetarian harmful for the animals? It also details on the issues and discriminations based on sex, euthanasia, abortion, violence, terrorism and many other contemporary issues. Although the concepts Peter writes about are complex at their core, he has compiled them in simple and lucid language. The book leaves you in thoughts, with ideas for a better ethical life. About Peter Singer Peter Singer is Ira W. DeCamp Professor of Bioethics at the University Center for Human Values at the Princeton University. He was previously the foundation president of the International Association of Bioethics. He has penned the book Animal Liberation, first published in 1975, and is usually recognized for initiating the modern movement for animal-rights. Peter’s book Practical Ethics is one of the most commonly used books in applied ethics across the world. His work Rethinking Life and Death received the National Book Council's Banjo Award for non-fiction in the year 1995.
