In this sixth book in the series Praying the Scriptures, the author continues his rich, you-are-there narration of the Acts of the Apostles and the General Epistles. The author closely examines Acts, Hebrews, James, the two Books of Peter, the three Books of John, and Jude to expose the relevance of the Bible for today s living and learning. The unique aspects of each book are vividly presented to the reader through contemporary illustrations and poignant prayers. The stories about why Luke, James, Peter, John, and Jude wrote their letters set dramatic scenes and characterizations that prepare the reader for the interpreted chapters that follow. As with his previous books, Towns Scripture portion of the manuscript is written in poetic style, combining modern-day language ( humanitarian hot food kitchen ) with a lyrical twist. This book will give readers deeper insight and understanding of the times in which the books were written as well as the personalities of the authors. Having prayers interspersed throughout the text offers an interactive element to the featured books of the Bible.
