This book is an anthology of ten essays, which are well researched, analyzed and documented by the various authors on the basis of their rich experience, research studies etc. The main focus and attraction of this book is that many new thoughts and ideas have been incorporated in the book. Set against the backdrop of police history, culture, and psycho-social scenario, this contains the study of corruption in the Indian Police System, rising crime, police- public relationship, difficulties faced by a policeman and law enforcement in India. The rich historical records, statistical data, maps, and empirical surveys and observations are brought together for providing a wealth of additional information to the readers. Focusing on the challenges faced by mounting terrorism activities and the changes in policing to counter them, the book draws out valuable lessons applicable in various degrees in Indian cities. About the Author Dr. Dalvir Singh Gahlawat (b.1961), graduated from M.D. University, Rohtak, Haryana and subsequently joined Delhi Police. He was directly recruited as Head Constable in Communication in 1988 and remained the best cadet in his training. At present he is working in Delhi Police as Sub-Inspector. During his service he did his Masters in Political Science and English, M. Phil in English and PhD in English. He travelled across India and attended more than thirty UGC sponsored national and international seminars. He has chaired sessions at international seminars and also remained Resource Person and Key Note Speaker in many seminars. He has above forty research papers including nine poems and a short story in his credit.
