This Uniquely comprehensive yet detailed study of psychological testing is a thorough revision of a well-known basic text. Major addition include new chapters on the historical background of psychological testing and on the basic statistical concepts essential to an understanding of tests and testing. Professor Freeman incorporates the latest specialized data into his presentation, with considerably emplified treatment of the reliability and validity of psychological testing and of various aspects of multiple factor batteries. More attention  is also directed towards the many different projective methods, including their controversial aspects. Perticular attention is given to the Rorschach and Thematic Apperception tests. Other valuable sections of the book discuss current thought on definitions and analysis of intelligence; define and examine aptitude, achievement, situational intelligence and personality tests; trace the origins and nature of the Stanford-Binet Scale; and evaluate the 1937 and 1960 revisions of that significant gauge. The Wechsler Tests and the individual Performance Scales are discussed in separate chapters. The wide range at factual and analytical material gives unusual scope and substance to Professor Freeman’s book. His systematic exploration of psychological measurement, enriched by a wealth of illustrative test material, provides an exceptionally strong course in psychological testing.
