-Religious Sculptures of Cambodia has been studied in this book from Cultural and Religious point of view. While doing so literary evidences, both P¡li and Sanskrit have been gathered. Introduction- Collects information about the regions of South East Asia which was dominated by Therav¡din Buddhism. Chapter I- Buddha: Sandstone, wooden Statues and reliefs in the Temples have been influenced by Therav¡dins. Chapter II- Bothisattva: The Statues of Bodhisattvas are very popular and show influence of Thereav¡dins and Early Mah¡yanist, as Avalokiteshwar Statues are in good numbers. Chapter III- Hindu Gods: This chapter deals with Sculptures of Hindu Gods which were very popular, such as Brahm¡, Vish»u and Mahe§. Besides two Avat¡rs (incarnation of Vish»u) namely Var¡ha and Krish»a are studied; along with Ganesh, M¡ruti and Harihara. Chapter IV- V¡hanas: Nandi of Shiva and Garuda of Indra and Vish»u. Chapter V- Kath¡s: Mythological-Stories (Kath¡s) of Mah¡bh¡rata and J¡taka-Kath¡s. Conclusion- Cambodian Artists were more interested in constructing Temples. However there were group of artists who did justice to sculptures.
