Research in every field is the demand of the day. Progress is directly linked with research in that field. We need a large number of research scholars who may take up the huge task of providing new directions to our educational theories and practices. Educational planning should be based on problems and requirements of any particular education system. The educational programs of modern India need a dedicated team of research scholars and educationists in various departments, various colleges of education and various other agencies engaged in research work. The huge stocks of variety reading materials are required. The present book is another source for them. The readers may find the style of the book readable and simple. The author has been connected with Educational Research for more than a decade. Students often feel that there is no comprehensive book on research in education. This encouraged the author to write this book for M.Ed., M Phil and research scholars. This book contains 14 chapters in which concepts of research in education, types, selection of research problems, steps in research process hypothesis, sampling historical, descriptive, experimental research have been covered. Methods have been discussed. It also includes resources and library skills, tools and techniques of research, analysis of data including descriptive and inferential statistics, and report writing.
