1. There is a need to keep this volume current given the authoritative nature of its content and its presentation. 2. The book is written by the major authorities in the field. 3. New methods are presented when and where necessary so that the book can maintain its high visibility. 4. It is a classic in view of the fact that it was originally the good in response surface methodology. 5. The book complements our own Myers - Montgomery in terms of laying the foundations of the subject matter. M&M delves more into current methods and new research (i.e. it is more cutting-edge than Box - Draper).
