Sri Krishna is worshipped by the majority of the common Hindu population. His life was full of hardships since birth, which is also similar to that of the common Indian. Children grow up listening to stories about his childhood that find themselves nearly into all households. Kanha, as he is called then, becomes a popular figure. Besides Krishna’s childhood stories, the Bhagwad Gita narrated by him plays a very important role in guiding the life of the masses. Moreover, his role in the Mahabharata is inspiring and often quoted to set examples of righteousness and the victory of truth over evil and injustice. But we hardly find any substantial text about Shri Rukhmini Mata who was the heart and soul of Lord Sri Krishna. Not many people know the story of his journey from his capital Dwarika to take her away from the land of Vidarbha at the very last moment when her dear elder brother had been cheated into promising her hand to someone else, but she finds her rightful place into the arms of her heart and soul, Lord Sri Krishna. The book is an attempt to present, in a very interesting manner, the character of Shri Rukhmini Mata and her life with the Lord. The event took place thousands of years ago and no one can vouch for the small facts. The folklore has been blended with imagination to create a splendid novel using mythology which has faith as its base. The complete life of Shri Rukhmini Mata and its different stages become the chapters of the book. Due care has been taken not to imitate anyone, and any resemblance to any work will be coincidental, not intentional.
