Social reformer Saint Kabir is a very influential character and glorified personality in the history of Hindi literature. He was rich in syncretic ideology, 'Vaishnav Bhakt' among Hindus, 'Pir' among Muslims, 'Bhagat' among Sikhs and 'Avatar' in Kabirpanth. He is recognized as a promoter of world religion and human religion, and a supporter of the weaker sections, revolutionary ideas and a facilitator of equality, justice and unity. His personality was so far from narrow religious boundaries that he could become a symbol of reverence for both Hindu and Muslim sects. His works were also given a place by the Sikhs in their religious texts. His words and couplets are so simple that even an illiterate person gets absorbed in the romance.
