Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' is a famous poet, story writer and a renowned litterateur who considers Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and Devatma Himalaya as his ideal. His astounding personality is a unique conglomeration of politics and literature. Combining both these apparently incompatible streams, he has achieved a high level of success in both the spheres. While his poems charged with patriotism and novels enshrining a keen insight into the human psyche offer a perennial source of inspiration to the youth, he has also written moral enhancing stories for his tiny readers which not only entertain but also enlighten in equal measure. Basically a teacher and a journalist, Nishank has many national and international honours conferred on him.
