Two unlikely yet unforgettable characters who find their lives get entangled with each other after a strange meeting two years back in a picturesque location of Shillong, a North-East India town popularly known as the “Scotland of East”. The professional psychologist and counselor Lucy takes her time off and visits some of the exotic hilly locations around Shillong with a strange man Vivek Marak. She discovers the latter’s story very fascinating, stark, and cruel too. Lucy’s mind also travels to her last year’s visit to North-East India, this time to Guwahati which is popularly known as the “Gateway of North-East India”.Her mind is engulfed in the thought of Sohini Ghosh of Guwahati whose story she finds very interesting. More she comes to know about this stunningly beautiful lady, she feels curious to learn more about her. She knows in detail from her elder sister Shalini Ghosh of the struggles the middle-class lady Sohini faces in life thus far. The story of this North-East Indian middle-class girl Sohini Ghosh is eloquent and moving as it balances masterfully a yearning for self-discovery, with the need for familial love; one woman’s longing for life in the nature where simplicity and basic human values prevail.
